The Baltimore Blues Society has four signature events per year.
Signature Events
Alonzo’s Memorial Picnic
Alonzo’s Memorial Picnic is a full day outdoor celebration of live blues music, food, merchandise and blues fans. This event brings together the blues community under the open summer sky for a day filled with friends, music and joy. This Labor Day weekend event is a favorite for long time fans as well as newcomers. The Baltimore Blues Society and its membership invites the public to share in this event which presents local, regional, national and international blues artists.
Gobble Up the Blues Show
The Gobble Up the Blues Show brings together the societies’ membership and newcomers for a holiday celebration of this beloved music. It is a time in November when friends gather to wish seasons greetings and share with friends all this music does to bring together those who love the blues.
Down Home Blues Show
Down Home Blues Show typically takes place in the month of March. This show provides an opportunity for our members and the public to enjoy a show which focuses on bringing light to the winter doldrums through a love of blues music.
Spring Fever Show
The Spring Fever Show is dedicated to kicking off the blues music festival season. This month of May event is one where live music and camaraderie share an excitement to begin the festival fun of a summer long season of fabulous live blues music events throughout the region and country.

Members Night Out
The Baltimore Blues Society holds Members Night Out events throughout the region. These events are held are various locations in conjunction with venues who support live blues music and help us keep the blues alive. These events provide an opportunity for BBS members to join the public in fun filled evenings with live performances by blues artists from throughout the region. Members Night Out events are announced to all members by direct email as well as being posted on social media.
Blues Jams
The Baltimore Blues Society supports and partners with different blues jams throughout the area. To find local blues jams and live blues music events visit the Blues Calendar located on the website.
Educational Lectures
In addition to live performances, the Baltimore Blues Society is committed to sharing the history and cultural significance of the blues. Through educational lectures, we invite scholars, musicians, and community voices to explore the roots of the blues, its evolution, and its lasting influence on American music.
